Why does Xinjiang Hetian jade skyrocket?

In recent years, the price of Hetian jade in Xinjiang has skyrocketed. There are roughly two reasons. One aspect is that the cost of excavation remains high. Since 2006, the state has successively issued relevant policies to protect the environment, prohibiting large-scale excavators from mining into the riverbed, and the output of Hotan materials will be greatly reduced. In addition, the phenomenon of excavation of Hetian jade is still banned. It is said that the sales volume of the excavators in Hotan area ranks first in the country and the sales volume of excavators is the highest; in addition to the increase in the cost of labor and diesel, the cost of excavating Hetian jade has increased. On the other hand, the dramatic increase in prices of ancient jade articles also led to the increase in the price of Hetian jade stone and carved pieces, reflecting the value that Hetian jade should have as a “national stone”.

Chinese jewellery and jade articles network Xiaobian believes that although the price of Hetian jade raw materials and products is already high, but this is relative to the previous price, if the horizontal and jade ratio is not high. The auction price for a pair of contemporary jade bracelets in Hong Kong exceeds 20 million yuan, while the highest price for a pair of contemporary jade bracelets is less than 2 million yuan.
