Ma Qing Ren: Homewear industry into the brand shaping period

From being a sponsor of the Miss Tourism World contest to actively supporting the establishment of the Tianjin Polytechnic University of the Arts and the Institute of Clothing Technology's "teaching practice base," Ma Qing has been making significant moves recently. He also allocated funds for luxury cars to reward top-performing dealers. With home service becoming a growing symbol of Chinese culture, Ma believes that home wear, as a part of daily life for Chinese consumers, reflects his 17 years of passion and dedication to the industry.

Business Opportunities Behind the Beautiful Event

Before the 2009 World Travel Miss China Finals even started, news about Kaidi Group’s sponsorship had already gone viral. As the sole designated sponsor of the event, Kaidi aimed to showcase the charm of its home wear brand on an international stage. At the same time, the company sought to enhance its brand recognition and explore new business opportunities. With the collaboration of Lai Ying, the brand and Ma Qing, chairman of the board, emphasized that promoting corporate culture through various platforms is rare. The positioning of the beauty pageant aligned well with Kaidi’s vision of spreading the beauty of life, making it an ideal platform to extend the fashion influence of the homewear industry. Ma added that participating in such events plays a vital role in driving the industry forward.

When asked about the partnership with the beauty pageant, Ma Qing noted that using such events to expand the brand’s reach could open up new opportunities for growth and visibility.

In Ma Qing’s view, Kaidi Group, as a pioneer in the homewear industry, has always aimed to give back to the community and fulfill its social responsibilities. Sponsoring the “World Travel Tournament” was not only a meaningful move but also a chance to highlight the importance of the home wear sector on a global scale.

School-Enterprise Cooperation Reserves Talent

Beyond sponsoring major events, Guangdong Kaidi Garment Co., Ltd. recently partnered with Tianjin Polytechnic University’s College of Art and the China Textile Industry Association’s Homewear Professional Committee to establish a “teaching practice base.” Focused on design and development, Ma Qing recognizes the critical need for more skilled designers in the home wear industry. He plans to set up more training centers nationwide to address the gap between academic education and industry needs, while also boosting innovation in home clothing design, production, and sales.

Ma Qing explained that the launch of this educational initiative is part of an order-based talent training program. It was reported that the “teaching practice base contract award ceremony” took place on November 2nd in Shantou, Guangdong. During the event, Ma Qing was officially appointed as a visiting professor at Tianjin Polytechnic University’s College of Art and Clothing. He plans to share his 17 years of entrepreneurial experience directly with students, aiming to inspire more young people to consider the homewear industry as a promising career path and provide them with new employment options.
