In 1972, it had exported 380 pieces of more than 10,000 willow products, and by 1980 it had reached 6100 pieces of 183,000 pieces. The products were mainly sold to Japan, France, Britain, the United States, and Italy.

After the reform and opening up, some villages and towns in southern Fujian Province have established Liubian Arts and Crafts Factory. Liubian has more tricks for product design, and the non-pollution and pollution-free Liubian products have become popular in the domestic and foreign markets, gradually forming a characteristic scale industry.

Junan County is located along the Huaihe flood storage area and there are more than 200,000 mu of river beach depression suitable for the growth of Tamarix. Vigorously developing the Liubian industry is an effective way to avoid floods and seek advantages and avoid hazards. In 2001, Junan County was named by the State Forestry Administration as “Hometown of China's Willows” and enjoyed the reputation of “China Willow Willows in Anhui and Anhui Willows in Weinan”.
